Crispy Tofu with Wonton Sheets

The tofu is seasoned with soy sauce, sesame oil, garlic, and a touch of white pepper, then wrapped in thin wonton sheets and deep-fried (or air-fried) until golden brown

Ingredients
  

  • 8 squares of Tofu Skin 12×12
  • 100 g prawns
  • 100 g minced chicken thighs
Marinade:
  • 1 Tablespoon Soy Sauce
  • 1 Teaspoon Sesame Oil
  • 1 Tablespoon rice wine
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon minced ginger
  • 1 teaspoon corn starch
  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar or sweetener
Dipping Sauce:
  • 2 Tablespoons light Mayo
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 1 teaspoon siracha sauce
  • 1 tablespoon BBQ sauce
  • 1 tablespoon fresh minced ginger
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice optional

Equipment

  • Mixing Bowl
  • Knife & chopping board
  • Frying pan / Deep fryer / Air fryer
  • Tongs or Chopsticks
  • Paper towels (for draining oil)

Instructions
 

  1. Sauce:
  2. 150 kcal, 1g protein, 9g carbs, 12g Fat
  3. Preheat the oven or Airfryer at 180C°C (I think Airfryer gives the best result)
  4. Cut tofu sheets into 12cm squares and soak in cold water
  5. Mince chicken thighs and cut prawns in half
  6. Mix all the marinade into the chicken and prawns.
  7. Divide the filling into 8 portions and place 1 portion in the middle of each tofu square.
  8. Spray the air fryer with olive oil, place the wontons on the tray, and spray again with oil.
  9. Toast for about 10-15 minutes until the wonton is crispy.
  10. Mix the dip ingredients together and enjoy the wontons with your dipping sauce.
